Hayes Bridal offers a concise collection of wedding gowns and silk separates. We believe in keeping it simple; so you can feel like yourself on your wedding day.
Designer Alice Hayes graduated Fashion School in 2011. She then worked between roles in the fashion industry and costume dressmaking for film, TV and theatre shows. Her passion for design, dressmaking and personal connection with clients saw her fitting in bespoke brides during these years on evenings and weekends. Until in late 2017, this passion met a clear demand for minimal, modern wedding style and Hayes Bridal blossomed quickly into its own being, launching in February 2018.
This refreshing take on relaxed, luxury bridal wear saw Hayes Brides all over the world in NZ, Australia, Canada and London, in just the first season.
In 2019, Alice followed her own love to the UK and now splits the year (and business) between London and New Zealand.
Hayes Bridal pieces are crafted from beautiful bridal specialty and silk fabrics; a thoughtful balance between classic and modern, never too traditional or too trendy. For an effortlessly elegant wedding day style – without the heavy lace and fussy finishings of more traditionally made gowns. With simple, flattering silhouettes and just the right amount of bridal detailing, in a Hayes Bridal piece you can still ‘feel like a bride’ while being free to move, laugh, dance and enjoy being totally present on your wedding day.
“Come and meet me for a consultation - this is your opportunity to try on the range and view fabrics in person before purchasing. We start by chatting through your wedding plans and how you want to look on the day, then you can try on as many pieces as you like! This usually takes around 1 hour. Some styles are customisable and I can take you through fit and fabric options as we go.
Most samples are available to try in a size NZ 8 and NZ 12 - but unfortunately not all samples are always available to try in every size so please ensure before your consultation you have provided your size and listed the styles you wish to try.
I like to keep this a relaxed environment - you are welcome to bring a few people to your appointment and I encourage you to take photos for reference to assist you in making your decision.

Please provide your bust, waist, hip measurements to assist in finding the right size for you.
If in doubt, it is best to order up a size, as it is always easier to take something in, and often impossible to make something bigger.
If you have any particular fit requirements (e.g size 8 bust, size 12 hip) we can aim to work to these, however, when purchasing online an exact fit cannot be guaranteed and you will need to arrange your own alterations locally.

All RTW styles are made to order and are priced on the product pages.
Most styles can be customised with changes in fabric or small design tweaks - e.g changes in neckline depth, strap width. If you have an idea of the changes you might wish to make - please email a description (or better yet, some reference images) to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss. You will be quoted a fee for additional work (if any) is needed for these minor customisations.
If you wish to make major changes to existing designs, this often becomes a ‘bespoke’ process where new patterns are required. Please see below on this process.
RTW styles are available to purchase online. Please get in touch to discuss this and provide your measurements.
As all garments are made to order, unfortunately, returns cannot be accepted (except in the unlikely case there is a major fabric flaw or fault in your garment)
Please do your best to allow at least 5 months (or more) for production. Urgent orders can usually be accommodated, but please get in contact asap to discuss.
PLEASE NOTE: Bespoke designs are fully booked for the 2019/2020 season, please get in touch to see if your vision for your dress can be achieved as a customisation of an existing ready-to-wear style
Alice also offers a completely personalised, bespoke service for just a handful of brides each season who have their own vision for their perfect, simple wedding dress.
At your bespoke consultation you can try on pieces from the RTW range, and discuss your ideas with Alice for this design. Please bring as many ideas and references as you can to explain your vision. Pinterest is a great place to start for visual references of designs/vibes/details.
Special fabric or trims can often be sourced. Once we have settled on design details, you will be given a quote.
A 10% non-refundable deposit is due to proceed to a mock up of your pattern (within 4-6 weeks from your initial consultation) At this first mock-up fitting you can try on the shape of your dress and we can make any tweaks to the design. There is no obligation to continue past this point if it isn't what you expected. So there are no surprises!
Once your actual dress is cut it takes 2-5 fittings to ensure the perfect fit (or more if we are making changes along the way). So you will need to be available for these (in either Auckland or London). If you are travelling for fittings we can often get 2 fittings into a weekend to save travel time and cost.
Bespoke designs start from $4000 NZD. Price will be quoted upon consultation. (Or if you have similar images for reference you can email them to email@example.com to get a ballpark estimate)
Please allow at least 7 months for this process if possible. Urgent orders can usually be accommodated but this will incur an extra fee and can limit our options in terms of fabric sourcing etc.
